Hmmm...I live up the street from this place and have generally had good experiences with it. I like the spring rolls and have managed to avoid the fish bones (!!). The beef and spinach in peanut sauce is killer (tho anything in peanut sauce works for me) and the warm cambodian noodles with the sliced spring rolls on them are also terrific. Give it another try if you get the chance.

More to the point, why don't ALL pork rolls have fishbones? It sounds lovely.

Try Bus Stop's delivery. Always good. Back crust is a bit dry, otherwise fine fine fine.

Moss,
Cock Robin is the answer to what question?
What's in my asshole, Batman?
Jennifer.

OK, I've added a photo, as you can see. Also, the sauce is pate, not pesto. Sorry for any confusion.

You're absolutely right, I should have given a more thorough description. I'll go here again and take a picture. (Although, to be fair, I did mention that it's served on french bread, and that the meat was chicken.) A Vietnamese sandwich is typically marinated meat, usually chicken or pork, served on French bread with pickled vegetables (carrots and daikon) and cilantro. The shops they sell them in are very simple, selling maybe donuts and coffee too, and some Asian snacks. Usually they're kind of messy, but this place was exceptionally clean.

I love the reviews, but, living where I live, have no idea what a Saigon Sandiwch would even look like. Photos would be beneficial for those of us in my situation, both of the food, and the establishment. (and whenever there's "super-cute" involved in anything)
Is this sandwich served on bread? In a pita? Wrapped? Open? I just can't fathom what it is... what kind of meat? Can I get one at Subway?? ;-)

I will be trying that very thing this week. Thanks for the suggestion, Scott.

I don't like Angkor Borei much, and Fortune Cookie's not much better (the old Vietnamese restaurant in there was much better). You should try Jasmine Teahhouse. Get the Wonton Soup (loaded with meats and wonton), crab puffs, and the ostrich as a main dish. Yummy.

Gosh Moss, never figured you for a 'Batman Begins' kind of guy.
